PHASE III: Completed

The Ministry Centre

Thanks to the Anglican Diocese of Ontario, we were able to make the Good Shepherd Legacy project happen, they will use the community centre to continue their work with the community.

PHASE II: Completed

The Edwards and Searles celebrated the completion of their new homes just in time for the Christmas holidays. It took a whole community to make this possible. Special thanks to our volunteers that worked at the build site, but also to those that worked behind the scene through fundraisers, presentations, office work, bingo, ReStore and by joining a committee. Many thanks to all of our sponsors who generously gave through monetary donations, GIK, meals, and services (the list goes on 150+!). This ceremony is a reminder that together, we can do great things.

PHASE I: Completed

“To them, a thank you means a lot, but to me, it doesn’t, it’s not enough, but all I can say is thank you from the bottom of our hearts,” Nathan Lovelace.

We had a full house at our Home Dedication for the Lovelace and Moedts families on Monday March 19th, 2018. The Church of the Good Shepherd hasn’t been as full for many years. Almost a hundred individuals joined us to celebrate the completion of our first duplex through the Good Shepherd Legacy Project.

It was an event filled with happiness and excitement, where the new Habitat Homeowners received their keys to their new home and had the opportunity to publicly thank everyone that helped in making their dream come true, a home of their own. Mayor Bryan Paterson, Bishop Michael Oulton and Peter DeBarros from Habitat Canada shared their congratulations for a successful build.

our families

the Mathias family (Napanee)

“Our story dictates we are not afraid of doing what it takes,” Rachel shared. “After having an open discussion with our [children] we are committed as an entire family.”

The Mathias family build is complete and the family is happily settling into their new home.

the Moedt family (Kingston)

“Home is a place where we can be ourselves…a place where my daughter can dance and play her music and be just a kid,” Kaye Moedt shared.

The Moedt family is one of the Good Shepherd Legacy partner families. Building for Phase 1 is taking place from Nov 2017 to Jan 2018.

the Lovelace family (Kingston)

“A place where I can hang my hat and call it home after a long day of work,” shared Nathan Lovelace when asked what home meant to him.

The Lovelace family is one of the Good Shepherd Legacy families selected to become homeowners this year. Building for Phase 1 is taking place from Nov 2017 to Jan 2018.
